The Promess Story - Good Parts and Good Processes Begin with Good DATA
Promess is a manufacturer of complete turnkey monitoring and motion systems used in a wide variety of Assembly and Test applications. It provides its customers with innovative sensing and motion control solutions.
The heart of testing is DATA, and the future of assembly is, increasingly, data-driven and data-reliant. Without good data, data that is reliable, accurate, consistent, and actionable, it is nearly impossible to verify your assemblies or your processes, and without good data, most all of your testing efforts are for naught. Promess is a world leader in developing, providing and supporting assembly and test systems with advanced motion control and reliable in-process monitoring with highly accurate integrated sensors and in-house-developed software, capable of gauging, and responding in real time to the data that has been collected and processed. Over the three decades since their beginning, Promess, with both their standard and custom sensing solutions, has controlled and monitored billions of manufacturing cycles while assembling millions of components for thousands of customers.
In their earlier days, Promess focused on perfecting their monitoring systems which were, most often, added on to existing press and/or torque operations. When their customers need arose for press and torque systems that were more precisely controllable, as well as measurable, Promess responded by building on their monitoring expertise and by developing the EMAP and TorquePRO systems which combine integrated in-process monitoring, precise motion control, and a flexible, durable assembly and test solution that met, and exceeded, that need.
Today’s manufacturing and testing demands the flexibility, durability, accuracy, and support, that Promess has made their hallmark. They understand that, often, your investment in capital equipment must go a long way, and have designed their product lines to be flexible enough to be used for multiple applications both from day one, and over time. They understand that the products you manufacture must be manufactured to the highest standards and have developed user-friendly, “plug-and-play” systems that are capable of not only creating that high level of quality, but also providing the data that verifies both your individual assemblies and your processes. And Promess understands your need to minimize risk and therefore combines all the above with available support and service on everything they sell, worldwide, 24/7/365.
The EMAP System, for example, one of Promess’ signature assembly systems, combines a precision ball screw, which has a built-in design factor of 2.5 dynamic screw capacity to press capacity, an internal strain-gauge load cell for high force accuracy, and a precision encoder for servo-controlled motion and high positional accuracy. The entire system is controlled by, and outcomes are monitored and gauged by, either the MotionPRO controller and its associated software, or, where coordinated multi-axis control is required, the new Promess UltraPRO. All of Promess’ product lines, including EMAP, TorquePRO and REMAP (which combines positioning, press force, and rotational motion/torque in a single unit), operate on the principles of in-process monitoring, closed-loop feedback, and actionable data.
Regardless of any of the other things that can go wrong, or that add unacceptable variation, to your process and to your products, from personnel change, to ambient conditions and incoming quality, Promess provides the stability to help ensure that your customers see nothing but the best and highest quality in the finished products they receive.
Join Promess this January on Wednesday the 11th to have pizza to eat and mingle with the Promess team, as well as learn about their monitoring and motion systems and how Promess helps OEM's across the globe to reduce mfg cost and improve quality. There is no cost for this event, and guests are welcome.
