In summer 2017, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) will partner with select local high school and community colleges, along with NGAS’s own select internal college interns, in Southern California to put on a demonstration event called the “Global Summit”. The “Global Summit” will unite local students to work together to solve a simulated global humanitarian challenge using autonomous vehicles. 4 teams of Northrop Grumman interns will participate alongside 1 team made up of students from Hawthorne High School of Manufacturing and Engineering and El Camino College’s START program. The 5 teams will build ground and aerial vehicles to be used to compete in a multi-level collaborative demonstration of simulated wildfire abatement.
The demonstration event will be held on 28 July at the El Camino College Football Stadium in Torrance, CA at 9 A.M. -12 P.M. students, NG employees, and the local community are encouraged to come out and view this innovative and exciting demonstration event, and cheer on the students on the teams!
