OUR 2ND ANNOUNCEMENT!
Chapter 354 has had a strong relationship with Chapter 77 and it's about to become stronger. Starting on April 13th, SME 354 & 77 will start holding joint Tech Talks about every other month.
The University of Denver Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering & Computer Science (RSECS Innovation Floor) will host 2-3 technical meeting per year for Chapter 354 and the University of Colorado Denver will also host 2-3 meetings for Chapter 77. Members and non-members alike are invited to attend.
THIRD ANNOUNCEMENT: EVENTBRITE
We will start utilizing Eventbrite for our events. This will allow us to know who is planning on attending each event. It also allows anyone on our executive committees to look at how many are attending rather than keeping track of emails, the University of Denver and often plant tours would like a detailed roster of attendance before arrival. Eventbrite will also allow us to take credit cards for the events that require fees. (ie: the 3D printing event we hosted with Terry Wohlers at New Belguim Brewing in 2015)
FOURTH ANNOUNCEMENT: SLACK
We have also set up a Slack Channel so that we can message amongst ourselves.
Slack is a cloud-based team collaboration tool. The name is an acronym for "Searchable Log of All Conversation and Knowledge".
Slack brings all our communications together in one place. It's real-time messaging, archiving and search for modern teams.
Have you ever found yourself not "in the loop?" Utilizing the Slack online tool (Cloud) will prevent that from happening. It's a central place for all of us to discuss matters, suggest tour and technical presentation idea and the like.
It will also allow for you to search past messages, we have shared a lot of excellent information with each other but unfortunately, much of it is locked up in individual email boxes.
Slack is an invite only tool, please ask for your invite here:
LAST, ANNOUNCEMENT, WE HAVE SETUP AN ONLINE CALENDAR FOR EVENTS
Our next event, at the University of Denver, is already on the calendar. This means that if you use Google Calendar or iCal (Apple) the event will appear on your calendar when we post them once you link them up!
Most Tours, Events and Technical Presentations going back to 2013 are on the calendar now and are easy to find by searching the term "SME"
Please use the following address to access your calendar in any web browser.
Please use the following address to access your calendar from other applications. You can copy and paste this into any calendar product that supports the iCal format.
Lots or exciting things happening, looking forward to hearing feedback and using the new online tools!
