  • 2016 Scholar Reception - Registration is Open!

    Registration is now open for the 2016 Chapter 1 Scholar Reception. Use the link below to register for this evening of celebration and glimpse of the future manufacturing workforce - our SME Scholars.

    Price is $20, and includes heavy hors d'oeuvres, soft drinks, and some pretty cool tech provided by Brose North America, a global manufacturer of automotive mechatronic solutions.

  • SAVE THE DATE - SME Scholar Reception

    Please mark your calendars for October 21, 2016 for an evening of celebration as we honor the 2016 class of SME scholars. Each year the SME Education Foundation awards scholarships to students pursuing a career in manufacturing, including Chapter Scholarships funded by the Southeast Michigan Chapters.

    Join us for an evening of technology, food, and fun. Registration details will be available in July.

  • Chapter 198 Merges with Chapter 1

    In December 2015, Downriver Chapter 198 voted to become part of Detroit Chapter 1, the Founding Chapter.

    The leadership of Chapter 198 did not take this decision lightly, and with the intent of better serving southeast Michigan SME members, made the tough but necessary choice to merge with Chapter 1.

    The officers of Chapter 1 welcome any Chapter 198 members who may want more information to contact us and we'd be happy to connect with you.

    Chapter 1 is excited about its upcoming year and having Chapter 198 members coming alongside us will make all southeast Michigan members stronger. We look forward to meeting all of you in person.
