  • UNC Charlotte Workshop

    UNC Charlotte is hosting a workshop on manufacturing data science on Friday, May 19. The workshop targets a critical gap in the emerging digital manufacturing ecosystem – achieving data-driven improvements in manufacturing processes to realize broader benefits across the factory and enterprise. It will bring together personnel from industry, state government, University of North Carolina (UNC) General Administration, and UNC system universities to discuss current capabilities and future needs for widespread implementation.

    Additional details and registration are available at the following web site. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required for planning purposes.

  • Chapter 038 Scholarship Applications

    Grand Rapids Chapter of SME (038) wants to make sure that if you are a mentor or mentee, First Robotics participant or college student, we have our scholarship application for financial aid posted on several college web sites. You can contact your local SME officer for a copy also. If you have not received a scholarship application from your coaches or First Mentors, you should check with them for a copy. They have been sent out by the West Michigan First Chair,. Ken Platteschore. If you are planning on attending a Michigan post-secondary school in the fall, either for Manufacturing or Engineering, you should consider the SME scholarships. The deadline for consideration will be the end of March 2017. Whether you are going to be a freshman or sophomore in the fall, we need to hear from you before its too late.
