Ryan Clair will be describing the operation and demonstrating the performance of the SciAps Z200C+ handheld, field portable LIBS analyzer for alloy classification of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and for the measurement of carbon in steel and L-grade stainless to less than 100 ppm. The LIBS technique dose not use ionizing radiation like Xray Fluorescence does. In addition to the ability to measure carbon, the Z-200C+ can also measure lithium and beryllium in alloys like ultra light aluminums and beryllium-copper. Ryan will also demonstrate the alloy sorting characteristics of the SciAps X200 handheld, field portable XRF for comparison. Both systems operate on Android and include the data sharing and wireless capabilities of that operating system. Bring samples if you would like to evaluate the instruments’ performance on alloys specific to your enterprise.
