Predicting Completion Rates at a Postsecondary Career and Technical School

Wednesday, September 18, 2013, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM (UTC-5:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Presenter: Dr. Gary Carter

A study using data collected
from 1,714 students enrolled in a postsecondary career and technical education program attempts to construct a model to accurately predict program completion.  Though the model was statistically significant, it proved to have a limited amount of predictive power.  These findings support current research suggesting myriad external and internal factors affect completion rates at postsecondary education programs due to the ever-increasing diversity in institutional program offerings and student backgrounds.
