TECH-X: The Nuts & Bolts of GD&T - An Intro to Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
SME North Bay Chapter #431
Friday, April 3, 2015 from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM (PDT)
Rohnert Park, CA

Join the North Bay SME community for a breakfast presentation and informative discussion on The Nuts & Bolts of GD&T - An Introduction to Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.

Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is a three-dimensional international engineering language used by design, production, and engineering staff.  Proper interpretation and application of GD&T may mean the difference between quality products with excellent cycle time or defective products and extended time to market.  This presentation will provide an overview of the general concepts of GD&T as well as the benefits and challenges of its use.  This breakfast discussion is ideal for manufacturing, quality, product and design engineers & technicians, buyers & purchasers, machinists, technical managers and all levels of professionals involved with or exposed to dimensioned drawings.

The instructor for this presentation will be Edward Jaeck from Medtronic in Santa Rosa.  Edward has a BS in Mechanical Engineering, a Master's in both Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, a Six Sigma Black Belt and is one of less than 700 professionals worldwide who hold the ASME GD&T Sernior Certification.  Edward has over 15 years of experience with GD&T from the design, manufacturing and inspection perspective and will blend the pro's and con's of all these perspectives to help attendees develop a foundation of knowledge on the topic.
