LCA Like A Pro Using SimaPro

Aberration in climate has become a norm; rarely a week goes by without some meteorological phenomenon making headlines. Scientists have asserted that even extinction of dinosaurs is a result of climate change. The time was different then, the reasons were different then; the time is different now, the reasons are different now; the fact being we couldn’t have done anything then, but we surely can do something now. It’s just a matter of start. In the previous blog, I had explained in brief about LCA. Now, I will give some insights about the software used.

There are many softwares available in the market for performing LCA like simaPro and openLCA. Simapro has been dominating the industries and academics in more than 80 countries with its wide database providing the facts needed to create a sustainable value.

Global Warming Potential (GWP)

In this test the software produces CO2 equivalents generated from the various processes of the process flow diagram and makes it available to you in the form of graphs, charts and tree network.

Eco-indicator 99(50a/ 100a)

This test summarises how a specefic process can affect the human health, eco-system and resources in the next 50 years (50a) or 100 years (100a)
