SME 2019 Office Installation Event

It was a beautiful Friday evening, January 25th. SME Chapter 233 gathered to participate in their 2019 Officer Installation. We had 30 folks in attendance including excellent representation by two student chapters sponsored by 233; Dr Sagil James and Cal State Fullerton and Kamyar “Kamy” Khashayar and East Los Angeles College, and Juan Flores Zamora attended representing Long Beach City College with whom we hope to reignite their student chapter.


Gary Pangelina will serve this year as Chair, David Rosenfield will serve as Chair Elect. 

A few pieces of Board business were handled including discussing our participation in upcoming WESTEC and AeroDef trade shows at which we expect to have a table top display of our own for Ch 233, and discussions about monthly dates and locations for Board meetings. It was agreed the board meetings will move between ELAC and CSUF and the ROMAC facilities as needed and which ever school or company hosts the meeting will determine the actual day and time. Finally we continued a discussion about 233 bringing certification training and proctoring to our area. A nice turn out and lively discussions bodes well for an active 2019 for 233.
