Published
A "Call for Papers" for the 2019 Italian Machine Tool Technology Awards is announced by the Italian Trade Agency via its Chicago USA Office (ice.it/en/index.php/markets/usa) and its partners.

The IMTTA program is comprised of a competition asking upper-level students attending premier U.S. universities to write a thesis on innovation taking place in mechanical engineering related industries and the issues they face. The aim of the program is to enrich the engineering education of students and to advance knowledge on issues of importance within the industry to the next generation of engineering professionals. Four (4) student winners and one (1) university faculty member will be selected by the ITA, UCIMU and SME.

Winners of the 9th Italian Machine Tool Technology Awards, selected as having the best papers, will be awarded a one-week trip to Italy with activities scheduled for Nov. 10-17, 2019. Students will visit top Italian companies in the machine tool industry, take part in an advanced educational program at the Università Carlo Cattaneo - LIUC along with a number of cultural activities in various Italian cities.

The IMTTA is sponsored by the Italian Trade Agency, via its Chicago and Rome Offices, UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE (Association of Italian Manufacturers of Machine Tools, Robots, Automation Systems and Ancillary Products — ucimu.it), and in the U.S., SME — sme.org.
