Women Driving Innovation In Manufacturing
Published
Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day celebrate the contributions of female leaders and innovators both past and present who have had a positive impact on society and across industries.
SME celebrates the achievements of women who have chosen a career in manufacturing and continues to drive our industry forward. In particular, we celebrate our female members who've had an impact on manufacturing and SME, starting with our first female member Margaret Irene Cecil, who joined in 1936 and served as secretary of the first student chapter at the Detroit College of Applied Science.
We will continue to support initiatives to recognize not only the creative thinkers who have advanced manufacturing over the years but the women who continue to advance manufacturing today.
