Platinum Chapter Recognition 85

Platinum Chapter Recognition

Published
Each year, our SME chapters provide validation for their local chapters operations and various levels of engagement.

The forms, as required by SME Governance, indicate the new slate of elected chapter officers, a financial status update and a completed Chapter Program and Assessment Guide (CPAG) as an annual review of these four categories: Professional and membership development, communications, advancement of manufacturing and operations performed by the chapters.

I’m happy to announce that more than half of SME’s chapters qualified and achieved the levels of platinum, gold, silver and bronze in 2017.

Today, it’s indeed a pleasure to present and recognize the platinum-level chapters:
  • Chicago Chapter 5
  • Nashville Chapter 43
  • Silicon Valley Chapter 98
  • South Bay Chapter 153
  • South Los Angeles-Orange County 233
  • Greater Charleston Chapter 430

SME’s chapters are committed to continual improvements within the four areas of the CPAG listed above. One area that is of common significance to these chapters is student involvement and professional support at high schools, colleges and universities. Through their level of engagement, it’s clear that our chapters are passionate about the next generation of manufacturers and the people who, like themselves, enjoy making things.

Please join me in celebration of these accomplishments and the level of member and community engagement, which ultimately advance SME’s vision/mission/purpose.
