SME Chapter 186 and the UNI student chapter S126 will be participating in the upcoming 2018 Cedar Valley Family STEM Festival. This event will be a great opportunity to reach out to young individuals and get them excited about careers in manufacturing. We will be presenting the one-quarter scale pulling tractor that was built by the Panther Pullers team. The booth will have a display that will be showing pictures and videos of the pulling tractor at a recent competition along with having the students present to answer questions. Please stop by the booth to pick-up SME related items along with the chance to win one of several gift cards.
The goals of the festival are to promote, inspire and engage youth in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) activities and to introduce children and parents to STEM careers. Organizations will present exhibits and hands-on activities for kids pre-K through 12 and their families. Attendees can drive robots, conduct amazing science experiments, and much more! In addition, the festival showcases STEM programs in local schools and offers interactive specialty shows throughout the evening. Further event information is attached below:
