Application of "work group metrics"
Hi Carol,
I remember an article describing how to present a summary of an organization's performance to a large diverse group of individuals. The problem is when we present a bunch of numbers and stoplight charts to a team, many walk away asking are we getting better or are we getting worse. This method allowed you to combine several performance measures into a single number, it allowed management to weight the metric relative to importance to the organization. I am not sure were the article originated I want to say Westinghouse or someplace like that. I could have seen it in an Industrial Engineering or IEEE or American Management Association journal and it may be 20+ years ago. Any help would be appreciated.
