Discover Manufacturing is putting together a list of companies that will be open for tours, hands on projects and block parties for students interested in Manufacturing. Each teacher or school can register the class for a tour of a business in your area. If you are traveling to another location, some funding is available with Discover Manufacturing.
https://discover-manufacturing.com will give you the companies participating in the event in West Michigan. If you attend an event and answer the survey they pass out, you could be eligible to submit an essay of 100 words or less about yourself and why you would like a career in manufacturing. (Seniors only) to get a chance at a $500.00 scholarship. SME Grand Rapids, Chapter 38 would like to encourage the Robotics teams and parents to attend one of the events. There will be at least 50 companies in the West Michigan area with different types of manufacturing processes to interest everyone.
