Additive Manufacturing and the Foundry Industry – AM Ceramic Shells
Approved 2
Investment casting is a 5000-year-old process undergoing a significant shift in the use of technology, In particular additive manufacturing methods are being applied to creating ceramic molds directly eliminating the need for a disposable part pattern.

The DoD has funded several projects that aim to deliver processes at MRL 8-9 capable of casting a wide range of alloys including superalloys.

Join us to learn about one project that has already proven the technology offers the opportunity to make wide-ranging changes to casting paradigms.

Presentation Host: Paul Finelt
Paul Finelt is the Program Manager and technical lead on the project being run by the Investment Casting Institute under contract from America Makes.
