Featuring Guest Speaker:
Dr. William Makofske
You are invited to join us for a dinner banquet with guest speaker Dr. William Makofske, who is Emeritus Professor of Physics, Ramapo College of NJ. With a B.S. in physics from Pratt Institute and an M.S. and Ph.D. in nuclear physics from Rutgers University, Dr. Makofske has spent many years in teaching and research at Rutgers, University of Minnesota, Columbia University and Ramapo College. He also served as a visiting scientist (in Energy and Climate) at Argonne National Laboratory, and (in Energy) at the Building Research Establishment, England, as well as a Fulbright Scholar (Energy and Environment) in Germany. He was a member of two State of NJ Governor’s Energy Task Forces: one on grid-connected renewable energy, and the other on renewable energy policy. Dr. Makofske will provide an overview of the climate problem, briefly focusing on the causes, local and global impacts, and more intensively on climate solutions. He will explore various mitigation and adaptation strategies where science, technology and engineering will need to play a dominant role. Currently, he lectures on various energy and climate topics.

Admission is by prepaid reservation only and is due by Friday, February 21, 2020.
Cost is $37 per professional, guest or parent and $15 per student.
