The Senior EXPO is the premier showcase event for 12th-grade students at the Charlotte Engineering Early College (CEEC). Teams of students have devoted the last four years of their education to figure out how to problem solve using the engineering design process. The CEEC Senior EXPO, held yearly, is a public event where the students showcase this knowledge and their year-long design and development projects.Â
Southern Piedmont and other SME members, if you are able to fit it into your schedule, consider being a CEEC 2021 Senior Expo judge. Share your manufacturing experience and expertise with CEEC scholars by completing this form. Â
The projects require ingenuity, creativity, and sustained focus throughout the school year to be successful. Groups work with peers and professionals as they go through the development of their unique products. Community involvement is a key to the students’ success. The students are energized by the community partners’ and media’s attention on their projects. Judges are brought in to evaluate the projects on a number of criteria and award the top teams prizes.
The event is scheduled for Friday, April 23, 2021 from 10:30 am until 2:30 pm and will be held virtually on the BoothCentral platform.Â
