The Department of Industrial Engineering at Clemson University seeks applications and nominations for the Fluor Endowed Chair, to start August 2022.  The position is supported by a $4M endowment created by Fluor Corporation and the State of South Carolina.

 

The Endowed Chair is the highest faculty designation at Clemson University. We seek a dynamic, innovative leader with a distinguished record of scholarly work, research funding, and a research vision that promotes collaboration between Clemson IE, its regional / national industry partners, and a broad set of stakeholders that includes federal and state agencies.  They must have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and a willingness to expand disciplinary boundaries to address complex technical and societal grand challenges.  

 

The successful candidate will develop a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research program within intelligent supply chain design, analytics and control, data-driven decision-making, artificial intelligence, and/or optimization.  The research should have an impact on areas like infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, transportation, mobility, healthcare, capital projects, and operations management.
