The students in the Saginaw Career Complex Engineering / Advanced Manufacturing Program recently finished the “Introduction to Mechatronics” NC3 Certification Course which requires completing three (3) Festo Mech Lab automation projects and then passing an exam prior to receiving the certification. The students also completed the Precision Measurement Instrument (PMI) # 3 “Gauge Measurement” NC3 Certification Course which certifies them in the use of a Depth Gage, Feeler Gages and Thread Pitch Gages. Students are currently working on a manual Mill machining project in the Machine Shop in addition to a Music Box housing redesign project where they first remove a music box from its existing housing and then design and fabricate a new custom housing that will now hold the Music Box.
