Manufacturing Education Using Virtual Environment Resources

This is an NSF-funded virtual workshop on Digital Manufacturing Instruction using Virtual Reality (VR) technology.  The workshop will cover VR-based digital manufacturing instruction practices.  All sessions are online. 

Introductory Session: January 10, 2022, at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (CST)

Watch 6-8 YouTube videos, 20-30 min. each (flexible times)

Closing Session: January 14, 2022, at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (CST)

Participants will receive a $600 stipend and a VR headset.

Applications should include:
  • cover letter or letter of intent
  • resume
  • plan for implementing this material into your classroom

Following are the expectations from each participant:
  • Commit to participating in a one-hour introductory session on January 10, 2022, and a one hour closing session on January 14, 2022,
  • Watch the YouTube lecture modules during the week,
  • Be willing to complete a post-workshop evaluation, and
  • Be willing to sign a photo release.
The number of participants is limited to 30. Successful applicants will be announced mid-December.
