Madhukar Somireddy, Chair of SME Toronto Chapter, Received SME President Certificate

Madhukar Somireddy (pictured to the right) received the SME President Certificate for his leadership and contribution to the SME Toronto chapter. Madhukar is invaluable to the professional and student manufacturing communities of Toronto. He has been working for the SME Toronto chapter for more than 4 years; he was a chair-elect for the year 2019-20 and chair of the chapter for 2020-21. During this period, the chapter activities have benefited many local industries, student communities, and emerging professional members. This led the chapter to achieve the highest status, Platinum, and more funding from SME HQ to further engage its community members with the local manufacturing sector.
Madhukar is instrumental in the chapter revival and its engagement with the community members, a senior member of the community notes that. Madhukar played a crucial role in establishing the student chapter at York University. The engagement of student communities in the manufacturing sector and the chapter activities is significantly improved. The past leadership team of the chapter mentions that Madhukar's service is invaluable and even during critical times, he led the chapter to conduct substantial activities to benefit the community members. Madhukar mentioned that he is honoured to work for the one of the oldest SME chapter and takes this opportunity to convey thanks to the past leadership team for their support for the success of the chapter.
Additionally, Madhukar Somireddy educational credentials include PhD in Computational Methods for 3D Printing from York University, Canada. Madhukar is also a task member of SME Virtual Network, which is a new initiative for the members by the members from SME. He is also advocating advanced manufacturing technologies, especially additive manufacturing to the SME community. The SME Toronto chapter executive committee congratulates Madhukar on this achievement and looking forward to another successful year.
