SME's Wichita Chapter 52 offers an annual scholarship fund, giving preference to its current membership and their families, as well as active members of SME's student chapter, Wichita State University S014. Typically, recipients will be given $100 to $300 each year or a maximum of $600 per year.

Participants must use the money for educational purposes in one of the following ways:

1. Post high school undergraduate education in manufacturing-related curricula (e.g., Industrial education, industrial engineering, industrial technology, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology, manufacturing management, computer science, industrial graphic design, vocational-technical education,  and applicable physical science and mathematics).   
2. Professional development. Continuing education through participation in seminars, short courses, clinics and so on.
